Dan has helped several PE owned technology companies transform their business strategy to one of accelerated growth by applying the three-legged stool concept for business transformation by focusing on people, process, & technology.
Now the good stuff. Dan's first love for adventure is surfing and has spent many years chasing east coast Atlantic storms. Over the past couple of years, he has been balancing his time between rock climbing, mountaineering and horseback riding. Although, he will not turn down the opportunity to paddle a river or he also may be found hiking a section of the AT in his backyard.
Dan was one of the nine members of the Red Paint crew along with his son who co-created the philosophy that became the foundation for Red Paint Consulting.
Dan also has a Level One Certification for Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) with the HERD Institute along with numerous credentials for coaching and facilitation. He partners with horses to help teams perform better and to develop leaders.
He is a graduate of Moravian College (Go Hounds), a husband with two children and currently resides in Northern Virginia with their five horses. His playground is Seneca Rocks, West Virginia, the Blue Ridge Mountains and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, with the occasional expedition to climbing routes in the western United States.
Our operations & finance guru has almost 30 years of corporate business experience including 20 years with Lockheed Martin and Leidos with leadership roles in both finance and facility management. Cheryl has extensive experience in finance, strategic planning, process re-engineering, leadership development, team building and change management. Also, during her tenure at Lockheed Martin, Cheryl received a Six Sigma Greenbelt certification and Earned Value Management certification, as well as completing numerous business strategy and leadership development programs.
Now the good stuff. Cheryl's first love beyond the office are horses and nature. The owner of a small horse farm in Northern Virginia, Cheryl is the resident "Animal Whisperer" for Red Paint Consulting. Outside of horses, Cheryl has hiked the Swiss Alps numerous times and most recently bagged some peaks in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Chances are you will not find her high up on the rock face and more likely to find her on a trail ride with her Quarter Horse. Cheryl is always willing to push herself and others outside their comfort zone in order to build self-esteem and confidence fueling performance.
She is a graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Finance, a wife and mother of two children. Cheryl currently resides in Northern Virginia.
Ashley is our resident horse whisperer and is responsible for all things horses. This includes program operations and logistics, horse safety, development, health, and training. She ensures the horses are treated fairly as equal co-facilitators for RPC and prioritizes the safety of both the horses and participants throughout the programs. Ashley is also currently a Patient Care Veterinary Assistant with Virginia Tech's Marion dupont Scott Equine Medical Center.
Now for the good stuff. Ashley is an avid equestrian specializing in eventing, which consists of three separate disciplines: dressage, show jumping, and cross country. She enjoys training young horses and riders to improve the human-horse connection and to help both reach their full riding potential. She focuses on the safety of both horse and rider and values the welfare of the horse above all else. She prioritizes using correct equine biomechanics over harmful training methods or taking short cuts just to yield flashy but incorrect movements. Ashley firmly believes that one can never stop learning and enjoys furthering her own knowledge in many areas. You can also find Ashley absorbed in a good book or hiking the Appalachian Trail throughout Virginia and New Hampshire. However, her go-to activity will always be riding her two horses, River and Jedi, that is, when she is not too busy training the family to be better riders.
Ashley currently lives in Round Hill, Virginia, and is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences.
